The Finance Department is responsible for the receipt and disbursement of Washington County’s operating funds in an efficient, timely, professional, relevant and reliable manner. The department accounts for all accounting, accounts payable/receivable, financial system support and payroll. Finance is also responsible for preparing and submitting to the County Administrator and Board of County Commissioners on a regular basis a summary statement of the revenues and expenditures for the preceding period.
The Finance Department is to efficiently provide financial management and information to the Board of County Commissioners, to county departments and offices, and to the general public and financial community so they can have confidence and trust in Washington County Government, make informed decisions and achieve their desired results.
